SENIORS don't forget that College Goal Sunday is this Sunday, Feb. 10th from 2-4 p.m. Locations are listed on posters in your English classroom or on the brochure your English teacher gave you. If you attend, you have the chance of winning a $500 scholarship. Two names will be drawn at the conclusion of the event at each of the 18 sites across the state. The event is free. If you need money for college or technical school next year, plan to attend the College Goal Sunday with your parents, if available, to learn how to fill out the FAFSA.
The counselors have information regarding summer jobs that the City of Lawrence is offering. You must be at least 16, but more jobs become available if you are older. See the list that's posted on the Counselors' Bulletin Board.
Any Junior that is interested in attending ATS next year, stop by Mrs. Sue Walker's office and pick up a permission slip to visit KCKATS on Feb. 14th. Bus will leave at 8:10 a.m. and return at 11:30 a.m. Permission slips are due back to Mrs. Sue Walker by Feb. 11th
Any student who will be 16 years of age before June 1, 2008 and would like to volunteer as a MDA Summer Camp Counselor, stop by Mrs. Sue Walker's office for details about the application. The camp is at Tall Oaks Conference Center in Linwood, KS., and is held June 7-14. Deadline for the application is March 21, 2008.
Freshmen/Sophomores:
The Kiwanis Club of Kansas is sponsoring a KeyLeader service leadership program this summer, cost is $175, applications are with Mrs. S. Walker
